Re: Lord of the Rings
The LotR extended edition movies are sooooooooooooooooo loooooooooooooooong. But at least all the scenes make sense in the movie, in my opinion. It would be bad to put all those scenes in and have the movie not make sense.

I'd hate the movies if that was the case!

Re: Lord of the Rings
I've seen the movies (extended too) and finished the books last year. I love them! The books can get a bit slow at times and the names are confusing at first, but I would definitely put LOTR on my top books list! And if you liked the movies I'd definitely recommend the books, because they give the story a whole new level of depth that you're otherwise missing out on!
*phew* That was long! So, which is ya'll's favorite of the three: FotR, TT, or RotK?

Re: Lord of the Rings
I like all of them about the same, I guess, but I really like happy endings (hate books that have sad endings), so since RoTK ends the series, I like it the best.

That's true, though occasionally I like a sad ending. (*stares at shocked faces* ) After all, life is sad sometimes.

the books are really good, and the movies to. Just part of the books are kinda boring and hard to understand.

I absolutely love the movies. I have seen each one 100 times, and I put them on my ipod they are AMAZING!!! The books are really good too but some parts I just had a hard time getting through.

Re: Lord of the Rings
actually i am not exaggerating well maybe a little bit. I haven't seen each one 100 times but all together I think I have watched them around that. Plus when I have something on my ipod I watch almost every day till I am sick of it. But I never got sick of Lord Of he Rings though, I just thought I shouldn't watch it so much or a would get sick of it.

I have nearly finished the first book! Which is really sad if you knew I started it more than a year ago...
I have a long list of excuses though!

Re: Lord of the Rings
i got them from the library on audio book, and put them on my MP3 player, so when i get to a boring part, i can sleep.... but if you really want a good history of Middle-earth, i recommend the Silmarillion, if you have an MP3 player or iPod, i would say that audio books are the best option...

Re: Lord of the Rings
That sounds like a good idea. I might see if the library has it (The Silmarillion audio books). Was it just someone reading it, or were there voice actors and sound effects?
